Trenchtown
Last night I arrived to the Trenchtown by train
I took the stairs
where the poets used to sing
And all of the pretty people
turned down their hands
but I said “Ok”
And when I got down in those crazy tunnels
I met up with the band
It was hard to see them
But I sure could feel them
Crashing through the air

Refr.
In
Trenchtown
In
Trashtown

Hey little primadonna
in a Venice window, you wow my guitar!
And lucky boys
(you know the kind with aces on their faces)
ran screaming for the door
It was Trenchtown lovin´ as usual
no questions asked
The girls took what they needed and left the boys a-beggin´
as they snuck out the back
And the junkies
they laughed with us
as we went out for some smokes
And they called us kings
and we called ´em brothers
It sure was a beautiful sight

Refr.
You know
these parkinglots are killin´ me
with their self destructin´ joy
This crazy powder in this paranoid town will only bring you down

I knew a girl
who used to walk those streets
to find herself a friend
Well, tough luck Maria
A virgin you shall remain
A virgin you shall remain
