During our year as French scholars, we got acquainted with a girl who spoke Parisian with an American accent. She would run by the window of our classroom, waving to us in a prix-unique dress. Every time she talked, she mentioned her boyfriend, and that he was a real thug and a romantic. The last time we saw her, she was in a hurry, and her white-striped dress got stained from turning a corner to fast, right into the insensitive arms of the janitor, who were repainting a wall to cover up some graffiti. She collapsed right there on the street, becoming a little sad pile of legs, Cheap cotton and tears. We jumped out the window and ran up to her. She lied on her back, her eyes in the clouds. She said: "I don´t know if I´m unhappy because I´m not free or if I´m not free because I am unhappy".

Actually we wrote this song the last thing we did before going to France (hence the name), but we´ve discussed this, and every time we hear this song we think about that girl. The one who managed to get out, just to discover that you can never really get out.

The artwork for this song is made by our good friend Joakim Lundin, the man with the pencil in his hand, the hammer on his belt and the raven in his eyes. We love it.
